In 2018…
BRICC started with one mentor and 3 mentees. A seed was planted for women on untraditional journeys on their way to entrepreneurship, climbing the corporate ladder, and taking up space in emerging industries.
Fast-forward to 2025…
And five cohorts later, BRICC is a non-profit collective of multidisciplinary women & allies mentoring women facilitating experiential learning, self-discovery, and life-changing experiences.
From California to South Africa, our community spans borders and backgrounds, united by a common goal: to support one another’s growth through access, education, and empowerment.

What is The BRICC Foundry?
We are a collective of women, Building Resources Inspiring Change in our Community (BRICC)!
Our mission is to mitigate socio-economic disadvantages while helping women navigate the very real glass ceilings we face.
The BRICC Foundry is a direct response to staggering underrepresentation & uneven playing fields that affect women in business, startups & technology spaces. Many companies often overlook the realities of women, who face great obstacles and receive the least support. When companies take a one-size-fits-all approach to advancing women, especially those of color, we end up underserved and left behind.
Founded by Lauren Satterfield, BRICC is influenced by her experiences in Corporate America. Working for AT&T, the largest communications company in the world, Lauren has a decade of experience in the telecommunications, technology, and Internet industries, managing teams, and driving best-in-class results. She is passionate about increasing the presence of black, indigenous, and other people of color (BIPOC) into executive positions.

What is the Unreasonable Woman campaign?

The Unreasonable Woman campaign is about disrupting the status quo. Throughout history, women have had to be innovators and disruptive thinkers to advance in the workplace, overcome micro-aggressions, unmask biases, and penetrate male-dominated industries. Our vision is to celebrate their voices by highlighting bold women and their unconventional ways to leadership and success.
The BRICC Foundry wants to celebrate everyday women doing extraordinary work.
